Couple therapy sessions are helpful for couples whether dating, living together, maintaining a long-distance relationship, or in a long-term marriage. Some typical issues I help couples with are recovery after infidelity, chronic illness, sex, anger, improving communication, parenting, finances, and cross-cultural issues. You don’t have to be in the midst of a crisis to seek out help. I create a safe place for both partners to establish compassionate communication and connection.
Being a woman can be hard enough. Add balancing work, family, school, care-taking for an ailing parent, and being you may feel impossible. I support women in feeling more grounded, less stressed out, and more present in their lives and their relationships.
You may be struggling with feelings of depression or anxiety as you cope with changes related to aging, or with learning to live with a disability. Yet, you may be experiencing barriers, such as transportation issues, to get the help you need. I support you in your journey towards better mental health in my office or in the comfort of your own home.
Expressing tenderness and being emotionally open are important to nurturing healthy relationships with those around you. Yet, anxiety, depression, worry, anger, lack of confidence, and life and work stress get in the way. Therapy can help in stepping over these hurdles and improving your relationships. I will support you in expressing your feelings and connecting in your relationships.
Grief & Loss
Grief is the emotional response to a loss, any kind of loss. The loss of a loved one, loss of a job, breakups, loss of security or safety, or the loss of a part of ourselves. All of these experiences often result in feelings of overwhelming sadness, depression, anxiety, and confusion. I provide a safe place for you to talk about these feelings and to move forward while honoring the loss.
