Relationship Therapy

The most important relationship in life is the one we have with ourselves…

…because when it’s out of alignment, everything else is too.

Do you feel like you are constantly on the run? Your relationships are not what you’d like them to be? Maybe you say “yes” more often than you’d like?

Do you perhaps rely too much on your partner for reassurance, comfort, and support?

You may look like you have it all together to those around you. But, you’re actually feeling stuck, sad, stressed out, and frustrated with your life, work, relationships. You are not at all where you thought you’d be by now.

You fill your life with more. More things, more events, more saying “yes” to things you don’t want to do. At night you reach for that extra glass of wine, binge on another Netflix show, or eat those extra three slices of pizza. Not because you enjoy it, but because it helps to distract you. Distract you from the hurt, frustration, and stuckness you’re feeling.

You’ve spent some time trying to change things on your own. You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts. You’ve even committed to making things different. Many times.

Yet, you always fall back on what you know, what feels familiar (even if it’s not at all what you want). The concealed insecurity, fear, sadness, feeling lonely – all continue to show up in your life. And the voice in your head, whispering, yelling, sometimes screaming – you’re not good enough and you will be alone.

Life does present us with challenges

Being a professional woman and balancing work, family, hobbies, may feel out of reach. It’s common for women to experience feelings of depression and anxiety, lowered self-esteem, guilt, fear, and to get lost in the responsibilities of the day to day life.

When you’re overwhelmed by the kind of stress and anxiety you’re experiencing, it can be hard to see beyond your circumtances at what lies ahead. Therapy is about helping you see what’s possible and learn new ways to look at and approach yourself, your relationships, and your life. It’s about uncovering what hides underneath those feelings of unhappiness, stress, anxiety, feeling small, and the fear of being seen.

You can feel balanced and empowered in your life. Therapy with a relationship therapist provides you with a safe space to express and address all that causes you stress, uncertainty, and worry. I offer 15-minute consultation to learn more about you and to answer your questions. Call me at 612-808-0953. Or get in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions about Individual Relationship Therapy

What will we do in therapy?

We’ll talk about relationships, boundaries, fears, your protective parts. About how your past experiences continue affecting your present life. Along the way, you’ll make small and big discoveries about yourself, your relationships, and your world. You will uncover what’s holding you back, you’ll discover your resilience, your inner power. You’ll embrace your strengths and go into the future confident that whatever comes, you’ve got it.

How will I know that therapy works?

You’ll start noticing changes in your daily life, at work, in relationships.

I see that you’re an EMDR therapist. Do we have to do EMDR?

I believe EMDR therapy changes lives, but it’s up to you whether or not to use it in therapy. If you choose not to do EMDR therapy, we’ll do plenty to support you, help you uncover what’s holding you back, and reach your goals.

How do I get started?

If you have questions, schedule a 15-minute phone consultation with me. I’ll answer any questions you may have about individual therapy with me and what to expect. If we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule your intake appointment and get you on your way to healing the relationship you have with yourself. I can’t wait to hear from you!
